Hand-crafted in the lush southwest region of India, our vintage bamboo Indian Picking Baskets carry with them generations of tradition and artistry. Known locally as tokris, these baskets were skillfully woven by hand in tribal villages of Karnataka, where bamboo weaving has been a way of life for centuries.
Each basket bears a natural blackened patina, the result of age, use, and the unique treatment of bamboo fibers—giving every piece its own rustic character and timeless beauty. Once used for gathering crops and daily provisions, these baskets now make exceptional decorative accents, whether displayed on a wall, styled on a shelf, or used to hold dried flowers and textiles.
No two baskets are alike—subtle variations in size, weave, and patina are a testament to their authenticity and history.
